Quiet of Winter in Italia

Though many places we visit in the summer are busy and full of people wearing visors and socks with sandals, in the winter they’re quite desolate. I can manage to appreciate both. On the one hand, I love to see people while their happy and on holiday but, on the other, I also enjoy the … Continue reading

An Instance of Umbria

I am in the process of putting together a couple of stories for a project, so I’ll keep this brief and mysterious. Over the Christmas holidays, my husband and I visited Umbria.  And, I will tell you now, so far it’s on the top of my list for favourite region in Italy.  The people are … Continue reading

Monochromatic Eindhoven

I went for a walk on Sunday and made some photos of the town I live in, Eindhoven, Nederland.  We are at the peak of shopping season with Sinterklaas just days away, so it was a great opportunity to make photos of a lot of people.  The intent behind the making of the … Continue reading

Monochromatic Amsterdam

We live relatively close to Amsterdam; about one and half hours south.  Which by Dutch standards is very far, but for an American, it’s no big deal.  And for my Italian husband and his family, it’s the equivalent of the commute from their house, driving into Rome, on a busy day.  We’ve been to Amsterdam … Continue reading

Chewy Molasses Cookies

You might hear me say this again, but, “These are my favourite cookies!”  I might have just lied, but I don’t know it yet, because right now I believe it. I want to briefly clarify the reasoning behind my title and what this “Epicurean,” word really means.  And it’s going to be a talk on religion, so tread lightly.   Let’s begin with myself.  I don’t want to get into a rolling discussion about religion, but personally I believe religion as a whole has simply … Continue reading

Veg in Bins

I just wanted to share with you, some photos of veggies in blue bins, as well as some cheese.  We visited a farm in Genneper Park, this past weekend and they sell the veggies that they grow and the meat and cheese they produce on-site.  Happy Monday, everyone!  Have a great week! -Cassie

Paris Streets

Alright, this will be the last post about Paris.  You won’t have to think about it for a long time, unless you want to. This post has a simple theme.  I think you’ve already gotten that from the title.  These are views of Paris streets and a quick look at the places we’ve been around … Continue reading

Food(AKA…Life) in Paris

Food in Paris is important.  And, it is excellent.  And, obese people are few and far between.  And all of those svelte people start drinking wine at noon.  Why does this matter?  Well, it’s interesting and delicious and maybe its smart.  Our October “holiday” was last week and we ate and ate and ate.  And … Continue reading
